High Hopes

Catching up. N points. Real quick.

1) In case you were here for the poem I had re-blogged some days ago, you can find it here. I’m sorry that I deleted its post, but it’s hard to explain why putting up someone else’s work here made me feel less connected with my own blog. That is the sole reason I never re-blog even when though I constantly stumble on awesome content on WordPress.

2) I want to write more often, but these course assignments seem to pile up like sand in bottom half of the hourglass.

3) I am still intern-less for the next summer. I haven’t faced rejection from so many different people and of this magnitude ever before. Seriously, what is wrong with me? Whoa! Don’t open that door.

4) In case you didn’t realize, last line was quoted in an episode of FRIENDS that I don’t recall.

5) It’s an altogether different feeling to fall on bed late night(early morning?) after bathing, after a couple of days, after having spent the last 6 hrs monitoring the running code for an assignment, after having spent the complete previous day making it.

6) I’m not proud to admit this but, this bath reminds me that I’m out of clean underwear now. This means that – I’ll have to rush home in a day or two if possible, or else will have to do the laundry myself.

7) If you’re into pop music, do check out ‘Talking Body (Gryffin Remix)’ by Tove Lo.

8) Tomorrow is my sister’s birthday. I suck at choosing gifts, so pour in your suggestions for a birthday gift in comments below. I know I am being very unrealistically optimistic here, ain’t I? As if people will actually drop any. /* sigh */. I guess I’ll figure it out myself.

9) ‘Do You’ by Jay Sean not to be confused with ‘Do You Remember’ and ‘It Is What It Is’ by Lifehouse are highly under-rated.

10) The past few posts have been serious. I so enjoy writing lighter posts like this one.

11) ‘The Reluctant Fundamentalist’ will be discussed in the Humanities class from Monday onwards. I still haven’t finished reading ‘Gone Girl’. I’m about 120 pages short. Definitely worth reading I’d say, even if you’ve seen the movie.

Hoping to post more frequently.

You should have told your sister’s age..it would have been easier to suggest a gift. Btw it’s very easy to buy gifts for girls… they like almost everything, there are clothes, jewelry, cosmetics, handbags, shoes, books, crafts, even useless teddy bears… anything will do. 😛

Even I don’t like reblogging posts… so I can understand. 🙂 And I am really happy that you liked the poem. 🙂

You have humanities classes that too where you are made to read novels. Why didn’t I ever have such a class? 😦

And internship for next summer!!!! Abhi se itna tension!!!! You’ll surely get it…Don’t worry. 🙂

    1. You know, I did realize that I should put in the age but then I figured even then suggestions would have been pretty much the same.

About the poem, yes. It was of my taste. Simple. Meaningful and beautiful. Most poems on WordPress leave me feeling too dumb. 😛

    2. I couldn’t see the last two lines on the Mobile app. The courses range from Fiction to Moral Choices to Economics. Trust me, sometimes overanalyzing the text can get to your nerves. You then wish – if you could read and interpret things your own way. 😀
      And fingers crossed.

You have so many choices. We just had an English communication class in 1st year. and it pretty much sucked. 😛 And I like writing poems… they are easy, two minute job, and though I can’t use big words or intelligent metaphors, I kinda manage. I started writing poems after I started blogging so I owe my poetry to WordPress. 😛 I hate reading poetry though. The only poet who has managed to hold my attention is Shel Silverstein… here is one from him..

        “She had blue skin.
        And so did he.
        He kept it hid
        And so did she.
        They searched for blue
        Their whole life through,
        Then passed right by—
        And never knew.”

Isn’t is great! simple yet vivid. 🙂

        1. Exactly. These are the exact kinds that I love (get? ). 😛

          P. S. This is the poem that I was going to post as my second post on this blog. But since my first post was also a poem, I figured that another poem would tend to make it a poetry blog. 😛

You think too much before posting anything on your blog. You must write more often without caring about what your blog turns out to be… my blog is a mess but I love it.. it has poems, photographs, depressing posts… its kinda like how life is…all in one. 🙂

  2. Now that I think about it, I guess you’re right. I realize that this is the reason for my low posting frequency. The assignments are just a convenient excuse that I give myself.
I’ve always wanted things to appear perfect when I look back. It hasn’t worked out until now. I feel stupid reading my older posts.
Let’s see how this way turns out. 🙂
